Welcome back to…The Harper House

Today I (Ethan Stranger) am expressing my sadness & shock to y’all, as the new The Harper House had been canceled just after 1 season, but within that 1  season, I was surprisingly able to find several relatable aspects within the show (something that I don’t even know if Series Creator Brad Neely, The Cast or even the subscribers of Paramount+ are aware), so allow me (Ethan Stranger) to dive deeper into this series & I do hope (this is a long shot) that the series gets a 2nd chance at stardom (with a few simple changes)

The Harper House is about a family who is forced to move to the poor side of their hometown of River Creek, Arkansas (and that ladies & Gentlemen is something that many people should’ve found very relatable within the series, as they’re many families out there in the world who’ve lost their jobs & forced to move into cheaper houses, apartment or elsewhere in general, but remember this one quote (Picture: Left) & that’s where the mother of the series (Debbie Harper, Picture: Center) comes into play, as I find her the most relatable character on the series, as she’s a working mother attempts to aid her family in an attempt to reclaim their lost status (which is found in a lot of people within today’s society as they attempt to make the money to support there loving families). Debbie Harper is known for her engineering genius, attempting to come up with kick-ass to change the world & make her family modernly rich (which is something that I Ethan Stranger can relatable, as an Asperger who attempts to try to find ways of selling off his writing ideas & make the money to support himself is challenging, especially if they're not alot of support or aid).

To be fair, at least Debbie Harper tries her best to be supportive to her family (unlike Butterscotch Horseman, Picture; Right) who only cared for his failed book, abusing his son & cheating on his wife (Y'all, Including Brad Neely can read more on Butterscotch Horseman within my  “The Horse That Could be Broken: The Butterscotch Horseman Story” post for more on his bad horse father)

I find the Harper Twins (Todd & Ollie) relatable too, as I understand Todd’s struggle in adapting to a new lifestyle away from the good life he was once used to (I’ve been in Todd shoes multiple times, from being the class clown throughout my school years into force to adapt to multiple environments throughout my many travels around the world, as I witness several of my friends from the states have already settled with their lives & moving on through the crazy game of life, something that Todd struggles to do & that's letting go of the past). Ollie is known to be unique & special in her own way (something that I can relate to & that I’ve been several tomboys like her throughout my life). At Least Todd & Ollie made new friends (Picture: Left Corner), they remain of various friends I’ve used to make throughout my school years (but throughout my travels, I’ve learned that it’s also important to make new friends), The new friends that Todd & Ollie remind me of the usual cast friends of Ronnie Anne’s (From Casagrandes, Picture: Right) & Team Timbers (Picture: Bottom), but their tales are for another time (big fans of those shows)

The Kid known as Joshathan (Picture: Left Corner) is a special exception, he’s like an alternate version of Laird (from Casagrandes, Picture: Right Corner), both are like are considered the “Strange one within the group of friend (I Ethan Stranger that been there before multiple times)”.

Joshathan is an amalgam of these 2 boys I once knew, the 1st being in middle school years (his name was Matthew Mills) & the other I knew in High School (his name was Jeremy Malone), Matthew was known to do some various odd stuff (like scratch his butt, put his entire mouth on the water foundation & spits like crazy & let me tell ya, that’s not Crackalackin), Jeremy was a bit known (like Joshathan) to be a free-range kid (I remember him always wearing a dark hooded jacket a lot (even on hot days) & even I remember him literally recreating Edward Scissorhands’s actual scissor hands (impressive), he didn’t get in trouble, but he was quite an oddball

Finally, I find Episode 2 of The Harper House (Conflicting Parenting Books) the most relatable episode, as it puts the parenting style of Debbie & Freddie Harper to the Test (since both have different parents' styles, with Debbie pushing the Kids & Freddie prefers to coddle the kids), that something that parents in today’s society go through (trying to find the perfect parenting style that’ll best benefit their child (or children’s) lifestyle into adulthood), upon learning about my Aspergers/ADHD condition after High School Graduation (and seeing my life fly by quicker than the human eye), my parents (over the year & even today) have had their fair share in doing different parenting styles, especially my Mom (because she’s Peruvian & has a different view on parenting style from her parents & it still sticks with her to this day but is till a caring/loving Mom. Often both my parents have difficulty how to better understanding what I’m going through as several of my neurotypical friends are faring better in life), as their parents stuck to one parenting style (and now care that parenting style with them as several of them are parents in their own right)

With this post, I do hope that Paramount+ gives the Harper House a 2nd Chance, as I see potential in this series (the only thing I would suggest is that don’t make Freddie Harper so eager in trying to make Black Friends), other than that The Harper House is a unique show that should be explored more & has some pretty neat cast of characters (like Dr. Morocco & Brenna Harper, Pictures: Top), really wish I knew a principal like Dr. Morocco or had a sister like  Brenna Harper), at least Harper House has better humor than that Short-Lived 2016 FOX show (Bordertown, story, humor & characters were all over the place).

(Click on the line for the trailer, but to be fair who even remembers this):

Well Ms. Gonzalez (Picture, Bottom Left) has the right answer (None..absolutely None) &Tonya Acosta (Picture, Bottom Right) has her own review on Bordertown (it’s Gross), wish I had a teacher like Ms. Gonzalez & I 💜Tonya Acosta (like her purple shirt, Purple is my Favorite Color)

So until Paramount+  relaunches The Harper House (or maybe the Series should move to either Comedy Central or Nick at Nite) Ethan Stranger (Picture, Bottom: Center) must sign off (quickly Gwen Dang (Picture, Bottom Left Corner) muscle up with the bike & do the engine noise thing for me (one of the funniest moments in Episode 2), as I need to schedule an appointment with Tonya Acosta, it’s for my dog, Chewie), you are a professional veterinarian, right (do a good job & I’ll buy you a coffee). Hey, VyVy Nguyen (voice of Gwen Dang ), you make a pretty good engine noise sound (ever considering working alongside Michael Winslow, The Man of 10, 000 Sound Effects)?

I also adore the Harper House Opening theme (makes for a good Jingle Ringtone)

Wonder if my Piano Teacher could try & play this theme?
