Casagrande La Bamba πŸ’™πŸ’› 🧑

Such a shame that this series, The Casagrades (Picture: Top) came to an end after only 3 seasons, in my opinion, there was so much more potential for this spin-off, as it all started with Ronnie-Anne, a character that’s originally from that annoying series (Loud House) and would later get a spin-off series of her own, where we would see Ronnie-Anne and her family more fleshed out and also finding myself more enjoying the supporting cast of characters (Picture: Bottom) of this series than on the annoying Loud House series, so allow me (Ethan Stranger) to dive deeper into why enjoy more of “The Casgrandes” than that annoying Loud House…

To start, when I first heard of the Casagrades premiering, I was somewhat skeptical about watching this, because for me, this was a series about a “Spanish family living in the big city” (and I Ethan Stranger has a backstory with Spanish, mostly from my mom’s side of the family, for they are Peruvian), however, The Casagrsades are Mexican, but I still found them relatable to my situation when it comes to “embracing Spanish traditions”, like in this clip:

Speaking of Peru, Ronnie Anne’s Dad, Arturo (Picture: Below), is a “Physician on Missions in Peru, taking care of Children and providing healthcare”, I guess that is what attracted me to watch this series as I thought “The Casagrades were a Peruvian family” (Since I’m a Peruvian-American and my Mom’s side of the family is Peruvian), also in the past, I’ve known several friends of mine with divorced parents and Ronnie-Anne herself was in that situation too, so I could, in fact, relate to Ronnie-Anne (in a way), plus her Dad almost looks like my Mom’s brother (without a beard and he’s not a Physician)

(Click here to watch Ronnie-Anne be reunited with her Dad after his time in Peru)

What also attracted me to give “The Casagrandes”, was Sid Chang (Picture: Bottom Left Corner) and her friendship with Ronnie-Anne (Picture: Bottom Right Corner), though some might consider the friendship a parallel to Lincoln and Clyde on Loud House, however, I see that there’s a difference in their friendship, for (in my opinion), I feel like Cylde is force into Lincoln’s personal shenanigans, while the same can be said for both Ronnie-Anne and Sid Chang, I feel like their so-called shenanigans aren’t so bad as compared to the mess Lincoln and Cylde always find themselves into (That’s just my opinion).

(Click here to see the friendship of Ronnie-Anne and Sid Chang, then compare the difference)

Speaking of Sid Chang, I personally find her relatable, as I heard many whispers about her being on the spectrum (I, Ethan Stranger am also on the spectrum), a perfect example would be during the events of that “Zoo-mergency! episode”, with her overly energetic and zany ideas made me question if she was really on the spectrum (plus also she has that weird birthmark, Picture: Top Center), I too have a giant birthmark.

I also find Ronnie-Anne’s new friends (Picture: Top Center) cooler than those new annoying friends of Lincoln’s they introduce on Loud House, besides Ronnie-Anne’s friends were the kind of people I would typically see during my school years (being cool kids, to nerds to a bit of in-between)...

Finally, one last aspect that attracted me to The Casagrades was the character, Ernesto Estrella (Picture: Top Left corner), who’s loosely inspired by Walter Mercado Salinas (Picture: Top Right Corner), I (Ethan Stranger, Top Center) would never forget on how (when I was young) my mom’s mother would watch Walter Mercado Salinas on the Spanish channel since I was little, I thought “He was she (and maybe some type of magic-user)”, but after watching a documentary of Walter on Netlfix, now I know better the truth…

The only thing I didn’t like from The Casgrandes was that parrot, Sergio (Picture: Bottom Left Corner), I know he’s a parrot (as parrots have been known to talk) and it’s a cartoon,  but I just found him “kind of annoying” and wished that he was a bit more like Potty Parrot (From SpongeBob, speaking of which feel free to check out myI’m A Goofy Goober: The SpongeBob (Birthday) PostπŸ’›”). I also didn’t like that creepy pigeon, Sancho (Picture: Bottom Right Corner), it just felt weird seeing him and Sergio throwing these parties (it just seemed too unusual for my taste). Plus Sancho remains me of this one-legged Pigeon I’ve seen on my bedroom window in Hyderabad (nicknamed “Footsie”)...

Since I’ve mentioned that I’m a Peruvian-American (even though The Casagrades are a Mexican familia), one thing they have in common is that language: Spanish, a language that somewhat knows a little bit, but doesn’t wanna learn furthermore of it, for like Potty Parrot (Picture: Bottom Right Center) said “Everybody knows the Future is where it’s at…make way for the future”, in the form of Star Wars C-3P0 (Picture: Bottom Left Corner), why waste time trying to learn a language when Robots can do all of the translating talking for us (where’s the backfiring in that, what will the Casagrandes say to that), besides I knew several Hispanic friends from my school years and hardly heard them speak Spanish or have to deal with people making fun of your race or have to say or spell your last name wrong…

Now that the Casagrades has sadly ended (with several stories gonna get resolved within Loud House), I do hope that Nickelodeon considers giving the Chang family (Picture: Bottom Left Corner) a prequel spin-off, to explore more of what the Chang family life was like long before Sid Chang met Ronnie-Anne. I am gonna miss seeing more Casagrandes episodes center around Carl and Adelaide (Picture: Bottom Right Corner), those 2 together were the best part of this entire series (in my opinion).

(Click here to witness Carl and Adelaide somewhat “bonding”)

Shame that The Casgrandes ended just after 3 seasons, but at least it tried to be different from Loud House (unlike when The Cleveland Show attempted to be different from Family Guy but failed), I do hope somewhere down the line, Nickelodeon considers doing a Casagrande's movie (that’s different from the stupid Loud House Movie), I believe the Casagrandes deserve a “Prequel Movie” to better explore the life that Ronnie-Anne’s parents had before they divorced (because I’m sure kids with divorced parents can relate to that the most, Picture: Bottom Center). Then for a continuation movie, I’m thinking about an amalgam between “Sony’s the Mitchells vs The Machines and 2019s Live-Action Dora Movie”, where The Casagrandes (and the Changs) find themselves on some crazy adventure…

(Click to watch Ronnie-Anne tries to reunite her parents)

Plus watching The Casagrandes made me wish my Mom’s Parents would speak English, at least Ronnie-Anne’s grandparents (Picture: top Center) know how to speak English, it’s weird how they actually look like my Mom’s parents, it’s like looking in an “Animated Mirror” (super weird)

(Watch how Ronnie-Anne’s grandparents act, just like my Mom’s parents at times)

(Ethan Stranger Signs off…with one last Casagrandes video)

(I do hope Casagrandes returns, but as their own people on their own show, for they’re not just supporting characters of Loud House anymore), I really enjoyed the series and I believe it deserves another chance at stardom (like more misadventures with Carl and Adelaide or Ronnie-Anne with her friends) as well as exploring the heartbreaking struggles of Ronnie-Anne’s parents' divorce…
