Marvel’s What if…Special Edition
Today I (Ethan Stranger) had decided to return to the world of Marvel’s What if…, as I continue to wait for an eternity for the trailer debut for Season 2 of the Animated What if…Series (which I’m sure will come out soon), I did manage to see a leaked version of it, but everybody knows that the official trailer end up completely different from the leaked footage, I’m very eager to see the “Sakaarian Iron Man” episode that got moved up to Season 2 due to the pandemic and judging by the leak I’ve seen within a leaked trailer, my predictions for that episode are very different from what I originally thought it would be…

What had me do a short special edition for Marvel’s What If…post was the time-traveling events that happened in 2019s Avengers: Endgame (Picture: Bottom Left Corner), as the Avengers time traveled to certain events within their history to retrieve the Infinity Stones in order to undo Thanos’s snap and bring their loved ones back, however in doing so, it was creating alternate timelines and although Cap did return the stones at the end, the events from the Loki Series (Picture: Bottom Right Corner) might’ve affected Cap’s attempt in preventing those alternate timelines from ever happening, as now the MCU’s multiverse is a concept that is frighteningly unknown (unless you watched the Animated What if…Series or have seen Spider-Man: No Way Home and Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness). Plus with Kang, the Conqueror about to become the MCU’s next big baddie within “Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars”, perhaps Kang will shine some more on the subject of the so-called Time Heist effect that the Avengers did during Endgame and many effects did their time-traveling actions really had on the timeline itself, as the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars could act as a restarting point for the MCU as a whole, as incursions will occur…

What if…(Avengers) Scenario-based Stories: The part of the blog where I talk about various other Multiversal possibilities concepts within the animated series (who knows, maybe these tales could either be made into actual comics or episodes for the animated series), and remember…anything is possible in a multiverse (thus allows us to get creative in a twisted way).
What if…The Asgardians put the Avengers on Trial: During the Time Heist event within the 2012s Avengers timeline, Loki manages to steal the Tesseract and teleport himself away (plus also 2023 Captain America whispers “Hail Hydra” to Hydra agents masquerading as SHIELD agents), thus, in this alternate 2012 timeline, The Asgardians would later arrive to Earth, demanding an explanation on where’s Loki and the Tesseract, thus Odin demands Thor that his new “earthbound buddies” be taken to Asgard for questioning while Hydra soon slips up on their existence within SHIELD (following their talk with 2023 Cap in the elevator), leading to Nick Fury and those loyal to him and SHIELD to deal with HYDRA’s infiltration themselves without the aid of the Avengers. Eventually, Fury sends for Captain Marvel to bring the Avengers back to Earth to aid in the HYDRA conflict, but it also results in Thor siding with the Avengers and betraying his fellow Asgardians (like in this What if…Story, Picture: Bottom Left Corner). Following all of this, Thor is forever banned from Asgard, HYDRA’s forces are now small and perhaps 2012 Thanos begins his quest for the infinity stones earlier than expected…

What if…The Avengers faced the wrath of the Dark Elves: In an Alternate 2013 timeline (during the events of 2013s Thor: The Dark World), 2013 Thor doesn’t have Mjolnir (as in 2023 Thor took with him back to his time), thus when the Dark Elves arrive (Picture: Bottom Left Corner) Thor is tragically wounded, but manages to save his mother (Frigga) as the 2 manage to escape to Earth to warn the Avengers. When Malekith and the Dark Elves arrive on earth 9fully powered up by the aether), Thor unites and leads the Avengers into battle (with other heroes later joining in on the fight), despite a hard-won victory, it came at a dire cost, with several heroes deaths (including Black Widow, Captain America, and even Thor), however, successors would rise to take on the mantles and a new Avengers Line-up will happen and everything within this universe will never be the same (with Asgard also gone and Frigga now queen of “New Asgard”)

(New) Avengers Members: Captain America (Sam Wilson) (Leader), Goliath (Clint Barton), Thor (Jane Foster), Iron Man, War Machine, Captain Marvel, Black Widow (Yelena Belova), Wasp (Hope Van Dyne), Wong, Shang-Chi, Valkyrie, Black Panther, Sharon Carter & (Grey) Hulk
What if…The Avengers battled Ronan the Accuser (personal Favorite): Remember when War Machine and Nebula interpreted Star-Lord’s Dance, click on the video to refresh your memory on the Time Heist event that happened in an alternate 2014:
Shame that we never saw more of this alternate timeline (for it was a major change, with 2014 Thanos and his forces traveled to 2023 and later got defeated…for good), however now there’s an alternate 2014 timeline in which Thanos and his forces are gone (as well as no Guardians to help protect the galaxy), perhaps Yondu arrives and takes back Quill, 2014 Gamora is lost in 2023, Rocket and Groot are still Bounty Hunters on Xandar (and later killed by Ronan the Accuser) and Drax is forever locked in the Kyln. Taking inspiration from this What if…Story (Picture: Bottom Right Corner), where it was the Avengers (not the Fantastic 4) who battled Galactus, while in the Alternate MCU 2014, it’s the Avengers (Not the Guardians of the Galaxy) who battle Ronan the Accuser (now in possession of the Power Stone) and his Kree forces. Following their victory, both Iron Man and Captain Marvel assemble the “Guardians of the Galaxy (their 1st big battle in space, battling Ego, The Living Planet), meanwhile, a new Avengers line-up occurs to deal with HYDRA and perhaps “The Emergence”

(Alternate) Guardians of the Galaxy: Captain Marvel (Leader), Iron Man (Co-Leader), Ant-Man (Scott Lang), Cosmo the Spacedog, Hercules, Thor, Valkyrie, Mantis & Talos
(Mighty) Avengers: Captain America (Leader), Black Widow, Hulk, War Machine, Hawkeye, Falcon, Sharon Carter, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Shang-Chi, Black Panther and Sersi

What if…The Avengers had assembled in the 1970s: So remember after 2012 Loki stole the Tesseract and teleported away, thus Iron Man and Captain America traveled back to the 1970s to retrieve another version of the Tesseract, well you can watch this clip to refresh your memory on the time heist in 1971…
(Plus there was some inspiration taken from this what if..The story, Picture: Bottom Left Corner)
Thus, in an alternate MCU timeline in 1971, HYDRA would’ve been exposed much earlier and thus SHIELD would’ve crumbled much quicker, however, those loyal to SHIELD would’ve picked up the pieces and reviving the organization, with Howard Stark and Peggy Carter deciding to form a team of heroes to help combat HYDRA, thus doubling their search for Captain America (in which they were successful). Cap would later reunite with bucky (freeing him from HYDRA’s control), make Isaiah Bradley his partner in crime (as a variant version of The Falcon), and later assemble other heroes to the combat against HYDRA (plus the events of 2011’s Thor and 2021s Eternals would’ve happened in the 1970s), plus Thanos would assemble a Cabal of Villains to aid in his conquest for world domination and aid in his quest for the Infinity stones (plus, how would the formation of the Avengers in the early 1970s affect further future events within this alternate MCU timeline)?
1970s Avengers: Captain America (Leader), Falcon (Isaiah Bradley), Namor, Black Panther (T’Chaka), Ant-Man (Hank Pym), Wasp (Janet Van Dyne), Iron Man (Howard Stark), Thor, Valkyrie, Phastos, Sersi, Winter Solider, Peggy Carter and Nick Fury
Cabal: Thanos (Leader), Loki, Attuma, Armin Zola, Mandarin, Maximus the Mad, and Red Skull
What if…The Avengers supported Captain America to become President: Following the battle of New York, an alternate MCU 2012 timeline would show us the public wanting Captain America to become president of the United States (even the Avengers support this idea). Though this was based on an actual What if...Story within comics and it was briefly teased in the 8th episode of the animated What if…Series, if there’s one thing that during Mark Gruenwald’s Captain America run (read more of my “Captain America: By Mark Gruenwald”) has shown me is that Cap represents the “American People, as well as the America Dream” (for it’s the president to represent the American Government), Cap was created to be his country biggest piece of living propaganda, however, how can he operate from it’s “political demands”, thus I’m sure with Cap being president, not everybody will be fully on board with this, as perhaps HYDRA can attempt in using the Mind stone to manipulate the US Nations into turning against Cap as their presidents and all costume figures (in general) before finally putting a stop to it, but a cost in which several US citizens actually “benefited from HYDRA”, believing that there country and heroes have ignored them, how could that affect the Avengers (especially with the threat of Thanos still intact in this alternate universe)...
