I Love you…Asami Sato 💖

A Follow-up to my “Legend of Korra: Power Bender 💙” post, Today I (Ethan Stranger) will be discussing another character from the Legend of Korra who I find relatable and that character is Avatar Korra’s Friend (Later Girlfriend), Asami Sato (Pictures: Top Center) voiced by the one and only beautiful Seychelle Gabriel (hope she gets a chance to read my “Legend of Korra: Power Bender Post”). Now then…Let’s get down to Business 


1st thing to refresh your memory on is that you’ll be very surprised at how both Asami and Toph (Picture: Bottom Right Corner) are kinda similar in some ways you can’t expect, for starters, both come from rich families (though while Toph has both her mom and dad, Asami sadly lost her mom and was stuck with her father, Hiroshi Sato, who hated benders and was a secret ally to the antagonistic group, the Equalists, but towards the end of the series, Hiroshi Sato did end up sacrificing himself and Asami reconcile with her father, though I’m not sure if Toph ever reconciles with her father, imagine Asami & young Toph discussing “certain daddy issues”, though both dads are completely different.

What brought both Asami and Korra (Picture: Bottom Center) closer together was their time dating the same guy (Mako, Pictures: Bottom Left and Right Corner), I remember in that 1 Legend of Korra in Season 3, I believe (The 1 where Asami attempted to teach Korra to drive better), both were discussing about there time dating Mako (I believe it was around the same time within season 1), though it was nice for those 2 to talk things out about having dated the same guy, otherwise things could’ve gotten ugly for the 2. Plus I like how slowly the creators took their time setting up the whole “Korra and Asami relationship”, which would later be the inspiration for slowly setting up Adora and Catra’s Relationship within Netflix’s She-Ra     


In my opinion, the “brother/sister bond between Bolin and Asami (Pictures: Bottom Center)” doesn’t get enough attention, for Bolin is the funny-man within this new Team Avatar, even had a crush on Korra before learning that his brother (Mako) had already begun dating Korra (which broke Bolin’s Heart) and I feel like that’s where Asami comes in, watching her bond with Bolin, it’s almost like Asami is the sister Bolin wish he had.    


An interesting fact is that Asami’s Voice actress Seychelle Gabriel (Picture: Bottom Center) played Princess Yue (Picture: Bottom left Corner) in that 2010 The Last Airbender film (Directed by M. Night Shangri-Llama), however, can anybody (besides myself) picture her portraying or voicing “Angel Bridge (Picture: Bottom Right Corner)”, a Character from the TMNT universe…

One last interesting fact about Asami Sato is that she was literally close to being portrayed as a villain within the “Legend of Korra” series, serving as a spy for Amon and the Equalists, working with her father to take down Avatar Korra and her team from the inside. However, I’m glad that the creator switched her to a more heroic side (otherwise we would’ve never gotten the “Korrasami Relationship”), which has one of the earliest LGBTQ+ relationships in a kid's cartoon show at the time (perhaps Avatar Studios can revisit Asami Sato being Villain if they consider doing a  What if…-Styled Series or Comic book run based on the world of Avatar itself)...   

Speaking about relationships, check out this drawing that my cousin did of Korra’s faithful pet Polar Bear Dog (Naga) reenacting the whole “Bella Notte Segment from Disney’s Lady & The Tramp” with my Japanese Spitz (Chewie) (Picture, Center, Drawn by my Cousin). For I can’t say what Janet & Seychelle's real-life reactions will be like upon seeing this drawing (or if they will even see it in the first place), but I’m gonna allow their Characters (Korra & Asami) to express their own reactions upon seeing this unlikely puppy love romance (can’t be as Weird as Donkey & Dragon from Shrek). That is...unless Seychelle Gabriel can convince Janet Varney can hook Naga up with Clifford the Big Red Dog), but then my dear Chewie, who just got suited up again (Picture, Center Below), will be heartbroken & wish he was as tall as Naga’s, just to give you a “tail-slap to the face” (believe me, my dog would wanna tail-slap me in the face for various occasions).


So unless Asami Sato can convince Avatar Korra from giving such a creepy look to my dear Chewie,                                     Ethan Stranger Signs Off and does hope that Seychelle Gabriel enjoys this post (I see Asami is already flattered).

An unlikely sequel to “ Diamondback in the Rough: The Rachel Leighton Story”. High School Crushes: Preparing for Love

A continuation from my previous blog posts, “High School Memoirs: Teachers & Bullies Club: No More”, I, Ethan Stranger will be discussing about a topic that I’m sure we (including people with Asperger’s) can relate to and that’s “Love (or whatever we think it really is during our High School Years)” . You see this letter (picture, above) , this was written by my “High School Crush”, we shared 3 ½ beautiful years together (From Late 2011-Late 2014), we gave each cute nicknames, I called her “Girl” and she called me “Buddy”.
