What if…Star Trek Edition
Following my “What if…Star Wars Edition” Post, I’ve decided to do another What if…Styled Post is based on another “Star-Title Franchise (that even came out before Star Wars did) and that’s Star Trek.
Check out these web links that’ll show some explanations of possible alternate Star Trek What if… Scenarios

To be honest, if Gene Roddenberry were still alive, I don’t even know if he would approve of a Star Trek What if…Series (Live-action or animation) or a comic book run based on a Star Trek What if…pitch idea, because he’d already had a vision of the future where everything is “so Perfect…maybe a bit too perfect”, the only kinds of people who I know would want that kind of future are Adrain Monk and Peruvians (plus nerds who had a boring Childhood).
(Click here to learn more about the problem people had with Gene’s Vision of Star Trek)
So now that’s out of the way, let’s boldly go into some alternative realities based around Star Trek, though I’ll mostly be talking about several past Star Trek series that I’ve watched (while also taking some inspiration from the Animated Marvel What if…Series), besides if you have your own story idea for a Star Trek What if…Scenario, feel free to share, but now, let’s boldly go:
The Enterprise Lost its Crew: Based around the episode (Skin of Evil) and Marvel’s Animated What if…series Episode 3, imagine what would’ve happened if it was Dr. Beverly Crusher (not Natasha Yar) who died from Armus, the Skin of Evil, if that did happen, I’m sure that would’ve to affect Welsey Crusher deeply, as he would’ve blamed Picard for taking his sweet time to take action, thus later the alien known as the Traveler would’ve taken in Wesley and would later convince him into getting revenge on Picard…by killing off the crew of the Enterprise, in order to send a message to Picard as Wesley wants him to hurt just like he did. This could force Picard into forming an alliance with Q in order to stop Welsey and the Traveler and then build up a new Enterprise Crew. Plus who knows, perhaps the Traveler would (at least) be a better parent figure than Aurra Sing was with Boba Fett from the Star Wars universe (feel free to check out my Aurra Sing trilogy Posts, plus who could picture someone like her within Star Trek)?
Q-Riker: Inspired by the Episode (Hide and Q) and Marvel’s Animated What if…series Episode 4, Imagine what would’ve happened if Q succeed in manipulating Commander Riker into joining the Q Continuum with the lure of Q's powers?!
Then we cut to the events from the episode (Skin of Evil) where Armus killed Deanna Troi (not Natasha Yar), thus Riker would try to use his newfound Q Powers to bring Troi back, but in the end, ends up destroying his own reality with him as the sole survivor
(Click to Watch a clip of the episode then picture a What if…Scenario)
Genesis Mutation: Inspired from the Episode (Genesis), imagine what would’ve happened if Picard and Data failed to come up with a cure for this “ de-evolved effect” that’s causing everybody aboard the Enterprise to de-evolved into primitive forms of life, including spiders, amphibians and cavemen, thus this effect begins spreading throughout the galaxy. Perhaps (if the concept of this episode was explored more), it could serve as Star Trek’s answer to Marvel Comics: Marvel Zombies Series (picture: Bottom Right Corner)
Q-Domination: Q only appeared in 1 episode of DS9 (Q-Less), but imagine what would’ve happened if Q made more appearances on DS9 (even getting involved with the Domination War), how could Q change those kinds of events?
(This 1 clip from Q-Less remains of the failed friendship I had with the main director during my High School Band years, for he was no Mr. C, like how Sisko is no Picard, read more about my failed friendship with the main director in my “Just a Band Director and his Student” Post, as that was 1 of my many regards, being friends with a grouchy man)
Federation/Bajor War: Inspired by Marvel’s Animated What if…series Episode 6, Imagine what would’ve happened if Ro Laren became a member of the DS9 Crew (which was supposed to happen had the actress agreed to appear), replacing Kira Nerys, plus What if it was Geordi La Forge (not Miles O’Brien) who made the switch from the Enterprise to DS9 (perhaps we could see the friendship of La Forge and Ro Laren continue, maybe they even become a couple). Plus (in this alternate timeline) Seska (Picture: Bottom Center) never joined the maquis and infiltrated DS9, where she attempted to manipulate both The Federation and Bajor into waving war with each other, in an attempt for the Cardassians to retake DS9 and takeover Bajor. Though Sisko learns that Seska is really a Cardassian spy, she succeeds in her plan and even manages to kill him. Eventually, Starfleet is forced to abandon DS9 and take over the former abandoned Cardassian space station Empok Nor where Captain Edward Jellico commands the space station (much to La Forge’s hatred). Perhaps (in this reality) La Forge acts like a big Brother figure to Jake Sisko, as they (alongside Ro Laren) work together to put an end to this Federation/Bajor War
Mirror/Domination War: Imagine what would’ve happened if (somehow) the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance (Logo Picture: Bottom Left Corner) had managed to break through to the main Star Trek reality and either go to war or form an alliance with the Dominion (Logo Picture: Bottom Right Corner) and the crew of DS9 is caught in the middle of it all (besides it would be a perfect idea for Mirror Wolf and Garak to meet his original counterparts, how would they react to them)?
(this video explores “The Dominion in the Mirror Universe”)
(Only) Maquis Lost in the Delta Quadrant: Imagine if it was only the Maquis (Logo Picture: Bottom Left Corner) that were lost in the Delta Quadrant, because when Voyager was getting pulled into the Delta Quadrant by the Caretaker, Voyager explode in the process, thus it was the maquis lost in the Delta Quadrant, plus I’m not sure on what will happen to Tuvok once the other maquis members learn that he’s a Federation Spy (perhaps ransom to an alien race in the delta quadrant), also I believe the Maquis could rip a page from marvel’s Starjammers (Picture: Bottom Right Corner) as they attempt to be a bit more heroic
Janeway becomes the new Locutus: Voyager has had many encounters with the Borg during their time within the Delta Quadrant, but what would’ve happened if, during one of their encounters with the Borg, the Borg kidnaps Captain Janeway and made her the “new Locutus” (with 7 of 9 as her 2nd in-command). Perhaps other members of Voyager would’ve been turned into Borg as well, thus the Borg would then return to the Alpha Quadrant, vowing Revenge on Picard and the Enterprise crew (with Janeway as Locutus)
Rebuild the Federation in the Delta Quadrant: Inspired by the episode (The 37s) imagine what would’ve if Captain Janeway and the Crew Voyager decided to remain in the Delta Quadrant and rebuild the Federation from there, however how could this affect Seska being revealed as a Cardassian spy and rebuilding the Maquis under her command
And that (ladies and gentlemen) are my story ideas for a possible Star Trek What if…Series (either a TV series or a comic book series), with multiple timelines emerging, it would be a good time to bring in the DTI (Department of Temporal Investigations), I mean every time there like an alternate reality from one of these 3 Star Trek Series I’ve seen, wonder why the DTI fails to show up in time, thus I do hope that (in the future) A Star Trek Series about what goes at the DTI (as well as involving more time-traveling/alternate dimensions) will be made (Especially with the success of Disney's Loki Series).
Perhaps in an alternate reality (whether it's our own or within the World of Star Trek), Deanna Troi (picture: Bottom Left Corner) should be like a “Mother Russia-Styled Symbol for Alaska” (besides, Commander Riker was born in Alaska, so it makes total sense, though it never says where in Alaska he was born in, hope it’s Juneau because that’s my real hometown right there, Deanna Troi and Commander Riker should check my “Joys of Juneau posts”).
Plus Deanna Troi dons my favorite Color, Purple, just like Alaska’s state Flower (Forget-Me-Nots, Picture: Bottom Right Center), so who cares what Captain Edward Jellico says, I think Deanna Troi looks good in Purple (Plus I wish I had her for a therapist).
Also on a little side note, wonder if I should rip a Page from Mirror Worf, with him having Mirror Garak in Chains, for I know what it’s have been betrayed, like when my Cousin (B.Ryan) promised to make a video based around my late grandpa for my B-Day, but never happened all because he can’t just simply put work aside for a few minutes and help family, so he better do that video or suffer like Mirror Garak
(Best of Mirror Worf & Mirror Garak)
(0:58-I Have Been Betrayed, I Know that feeling Mirror Worf)
Until my Next Star Trek What if…Ethan Stranger signs off and Beckett Mariner reminds you all to:
