Marvel’s What if…Special Edition II

You thought the story was over…but it was only the beginning (you gotta check out my 1st Marvel’s What If...Special Edition Post to get caught up), as I (Ethan Stranger) continue waiting for the premiere of S2 of Marvel’s animated what if…Series, I’ve decided to do another Marvel’s What if…Special Edition same as before, mostly focusing on the time-traveling events from 2019s Avengers: Endgame, where the Aevnegrs traveled to certain points throughout their history to retrieve the Infinity Stones and undo Thanos’s snap in the present day, only for their meddling with time-traveling to create alternate realities, even though Cap returned the stones, the Loki Series on Disney+ further explores the Multiverse within the MCU…

What if…(Avengers) Scenario-based Stories: The part of the blog where I talk about various other Multiversal possibilities concepts within the animated series (who knows, maybe these tales could either be made into actual comics or episodes for the animated series), and remember…anything is possible in a multiverse (thus allows us to get creative in a twisted way).

What if…The Avengers Lost the Battle of New York: In an Alternate MCU universe, imagine what would’ve happened if Loki somehow managed to gain the upper hand during the battle of NY (perhaps when Thanos and his children arrive on the battlefield with more reinforcements). Overwhelmed, The Avengers are later saved by SHIELD and forced to retreat (with Loki having killed both Black Widow, Thor, and even Nick Fury), but over time, with every battle, The Avengers would suffer heavy casualties and Loki would later end up manipulating both Corvus Glaive & Proxima Midnight into killing the other Children of Thanos and later allowing Loki to use the mind stone to mind-control Thanos and later take control of his entire forces, allowing Loki to even take over the cosmos while remaining on Midgard (alongside his newly forced Cabal). With Loki and his Cabal having nearly conquered all of Midgard and the cosmos, The remaining heroes are now hiding out in Wakanda and have renamed themselves “The Defenders team (Picture: Bottom Right Corner)” based on the Age of Ultron storyline, a Cyborg Iron Man now running SHIELD and Steve Rogers now going by “Colonel America”, as they prepare for one last fight…

What if…Ego the Living Planet became possessed by the Aether: Ego, The Living Planet appears as an enemy of Thor within the comics (Picture: Bottom Left Corner), while in the MCU, these 2 never met, however, in an alternate MCU-universe, imagine what would’ve happened if “Ego, the Living Planet appeared during the events of Thor: The Dark World and ended up getting possessed by the Aether (before the Dark elves could)”? I also see 2 other What if…Scenarios within this alternate MCU universe, “What if…The Avengers battled Ego, the Living Planet and What if…Mantis Joined the Avengers”, could this lead the Avengers facing off against Kang the Conquerer much earlier than expected, as he’s had somewhat of an odd relationship with Mantis within Comics (Picture: Bottom Center)

What if…Thanos Slaughtered the Avengers in 2014: Remember during “Avengers: Endgame” when Thanos learned about the Avenger's time-travel plan to undo the snap he caused in their time…

However, Imagine within an Alternate MCU universe where (after Thanos learned about the Future Avengers' plan), instead of trying to get to the Future, Thanos has Ebony Maw kill Nebula and decides to head to Earth to kill the 2014 Avengers (with them being completely unprepared for the attack), in fact, there was a Horrifying Deleted scene from Avengers: Endgame, where Thanos killed the 2014 Avengers and brought back the head of the 2014 Captain America to the present day, as a way to mock the present-day Avengers

Now, in this alternate MCU universe, Thanos literally killed the Avengers in 2014 and annihilated half of the Earth in the process, thus beginning his infinity quest 1 year early

(Thanos started his Infinity quest in 2015 during the Age of Ultron Event)

And now, I see 2 other What if…Scenarios within this alternate MCU universe, “What if…The Thunderbolts battled Thanos", where Bucky Barnes (free from his HYDRA programming), takes on the mantle of Captain America, allies himself with Gamora and the 2 began assembling a new superteam made of villains (The Thunderbolts), they 1st stopped HYDRA (led by Baron Von Strucker and Helmut Zemo) from rising to power following Thanos’s invasion before heading into space to confront Thanos himself. And the 2nd What if…Scenario within this alternate MCU universe would be “What if…Captain Marvel had formed the Guardians of the Galaxy”, in which she (alongside Mighty Thor/Jane Foster and Iron Man/James Rhodes, who managed to survive the attack) assemble an intergalactic superteam to battle Thanos and serve as allies towards the Thunderbolts.

What if…Hank Pym Sold Out in the 1970s: Taking inspiration from this What if…Iron Man story from the comics (Picture: Bottom Left Corner), imagine within an alternate MCU universe if something similar happened to Ant-Man (Hank Pym), even though Mr. Pym doesn’t like it whenever others try to recreate his so-called Pym Particle and use it for their own good, remember from the Ant-Man Movie

However, imagine what would’ve happened had Ant-Man (Hank Pym) (Picture: Bottom Right Corner) literally decided to sell out his formula for the Pym Particle and his Shrinking Technology to SHIELD, thus creating a new arms race between the various governments of the world on recreating the Pym Particle and Shrinking Tech (including having HYDRA rising to power much quicker in the 1970s, resulting in Pym’s Death), perhaps even making the future for all superhero-kind very unpredictable, that is until Captain America is discovered (around the 1970s) and is later given a new Suit (equipped with Pym Technology, Picture: Bottom Center), thus ponder the question, “What if…Captain America became the New Ant-Man/Giant-Man?”

What if…Captain America didn’t return to the past to live with Peggy Carter: Imagine if an alternate MCU timeline, Sharon Carter dies during the events of “Captain America: Civil War” and then during the 5-year effect from Thanos’s Snap, Cap found love, either in the form of Bernie Rosenthal (Picture: Bottom Left Corner) or Diamondback (Rachel Leighton) (Picture: Bottom Right Corner) or both (Picture: Bottom Center), Captain America could’ve been a ladies man, just like “Tony Stark himself” and cue the Barry White Music:

Then, when it was time to return the infinity stones back to the exact moment in time, Cap not only completed the mission, but only chose not to return to the past and live with Peggy Carter, but instead return to the present day, where he either lived happily with Bernie Rosenthal, Diamondback (Rachel Leighton) or both (what’s wrong with being a patriotic Ladies man), plus should assemble the “Stars & Stripes”, Cap’s handpicked commandos that assembled back when he was operating as The Cap within the Comics. In my opinion, I always liked Diamondback (Rachel Leighton) as Cap’s girlfriend, Bernie Rosenthal was alright but was more of a damsel in distress (did like the drawing of her from Captain America #427 by the late Dave Hoover), but Cap always finds romance more with the Carters (either if it’s Peggy or Sharon), I myself had a crush on an “actual Captain Carter” (read more about that story within my “Marvel’s What if… episode 1 post”).
